Our Story

StitchYaWitch Cross Stitch Designs are created by New Zealand Designer Sarah.

A quick bit of info about Sarah:

I do have a full time “normal person job”, but I also have a tendency to spend my evenings and weekends working on my true passion project – designing, creating, and stitching, cute and off kilter wee patterns.

My designs can be quite rude, I’ll be honest. What nerve! To defile the sweet nature of Cross Stitch and Embroidery in such a manner! I am only taking a leaf out of Dame Judi Dench’s book! However, I do temper those snarky inappropriate designs with some more traditional patterns and pretties, and I also trend towards the cute and adorable as well.

Do What You Love

Cross Stitch is a hobby but also a passion project that is easily transportable and has so much more to offer than you might have thought.

My love of Cross Stitch in particular (and other textile crafts in general), comes from my mother’s own obsession with Cross Stitch spanning decades, it was that obsession that influenced me to first take up Cross Stitch as a hobby.

Aside from showing that I have the patience to stab the same thing over and over again without losing focus, Cross Stitch has helped me develop a lot of patience and also works as an excellent medium for finding that little bit of inner peace during your evening (or your afternoon, or your mid-morning, or your breakfast, or your twilight sojourn, or all of the above!).

Smaller designs, like quite a few of the ones you’ll find available from StitchYaWitch, are perfect for taking with you to those low-key affairs like drive-thru movies (yes, they still exist!), music in the park, or even just to the beach on a fine summer’s day. Get yourself a good hoop, pack those bobbins away in a smaller little project case and take your passion with you!
