It Just Got Serious
I’ll be taking the new website down for a few days while I tinker with the styles/css/images and other little bits and bobs.
My quick start with a premade site template was great for getting the ball rolling, but now I have a wee bit more time to dedicate to making this site a bit better! I think that will probably be easier without having anyone wandering by and seeing the mess.
We’ll be back in just a few days looking better than ever! <3
Witch Me Luck – An Introduction
StitchYaWitch was started this year, in July of 2021, as a labour of love, built on from years of various textile craft pursuits and other ill-conceived notions. I was introduced to cross stitch from as early as I can remember being told not to touch sharp pointy things – my mum took cross stitch as a hobby before I was born and made it her absolute bitch. She is the kind of cross stitch maestro I could only hope to be one day. <3
I also started StitchYaWitch to save my soul a little bit. All through my teens I spent hours and hours of my life creating things – out of boredom, out of inspiration, out of interest. Somewhere along the way, as an adult, I stopped creating new things and started manufacturing responses. My interest in creating things dwindled down to occasionally popping something out of my craft supplies once every 3-4 months and not really engaging with my medium, or painting a wall and calling it crafty home improvement.
Luckily, it turns out that after neglecting my creativity for a decade it’s kinda like riding a bike – you never really forget how to do it. You’re not winning any races, for sure, and sometimes you aim the handlebars at hard obstacles by mistake, but you got closer to your destination than you ever could by not riding at all.

Creativity is also sort of like a snowball, in that once you start it down the mountain it tends to feed itself (sometimes like an out of control beast). Suddenly I’m waking up in the middle of the night to leave myself cryptic sleep-addled notes of inspiration on my phone. Really informative stuff actually:
Holy shit idek what [sic] Lang luang is but its stench is giving me good vibes. – Me, 3am probably
I guess spelling Ylang Ylang properly at 3am is not the easiest, but confusion is rife when I don’t even have any of that “stench” in the house.
Anyway, I digress a lot. My point is really just this – I love cross stitch and embroidery. I hope that you’re here because you also love those things, and maybe some of my rambling may be of some use to you. I will endeavour to ramble less in future posts.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I have soft-launched this website and blog, but it is definitely not yet in it’s final form. StitchYaWitch is still very much in it’s fledgling stages as a business, so every like and follow on our social media channels is very significant. Please consider visiting and seeing if there’s anything you like enough to see more of.
